Outfit How-to

How To Put Together An Outfit

1. Pick a statement bottom or top. If you'd rather draw attention towards your accessories, or want to create a basic outfit, pick solid colors.

2. Next, grab a complimentary article of clothing. When going with a statement piece, it is vital to not make the rest of the outfit too overwhelming. Pick solid jeans or black pants to go with a busy top, or a solid colored top to go with patterned pants.

3. Time for shoes - When living in colder states like MN, the most important aspect to take into account when choosing what type of shoe to wear is weather. Avoid sandals in the winter not just because its cold out, but also because it just looks wrong and is inappropriate for the season. Match a heeled bootie or high heel with a dressier outfit, and flats like tennis shoes with more athlesiure-type outfits.

4. Now its time for my favorite - accessorizing. Jewlery can really pull an ensemble together, so pick your pieces wisely. I like to pair stud earrings with basic outfits, and dangling ones with fancier outfits. Avoid mismatching jewlery colors - pick gold, silver, rose gold, or bronze and stick with it throughout all your pieces for an outfit. Don't forget to add a necklace that matches and compliments the neckline of your outfit, and add some simple rings to add some flair.

5. Finally, the most important part of any outfit is confidence. Looking awkward or uncomfortable can ruin even the most perfect of outfits, so get out there and strut your stuff.
